Principal’s Message

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Keilor Primary School. Established in 1875, Keilor Primary School is located within the local government area of Brimbank and is situated in the Keilor Village area behind the community sporting precinct.

At Keilor PS we provide a tailored educational experience that fosters curious, confident and lifelong learners. This is achieved through a rigorous teaching and learning program which prioritises high level student engagement. The foundation of all learning is built on strong, positive relationships between staff and students.

Our high expectations of staff, students and the wider community are reflected in our outstanding achievement data. Clear expectations, constructive feedback and school pride all come together to ensure all our students have the best opportunity to achieve success.

The staff at Keilor Primary are highly motivated and enthusiastic, working collaboratively to plan and deliver a learning program which meets the needs of all students. They work hard to create positive and welcoming environments where students feel supported to take risks in their learning.

School values of respect, resilience, learning, teamwork and collaboration are consistently integrated into our learning programs, ensuring that students understand their importance to lifelong success.

Our whole school well-being program, The Resilience Project, aims to help young people function well, both at school and in life. It provides practical strategies to help students cope with the complexity of their everyday lives and learn how to manage when they experience sadness, difficulties, frustrations and challenging times. The Resilience Projects fosters a greater sense of gratitude, empathy and mindfulness in our students and is consistently promoted across the school

Throughout the year our community comes together for a number of school events, including the Art Show, The Christmas Concert and the Athletics Carnival. These events further strengthen Keilor Primary links with the wider community, as well as giving our hard working students the opportunity to have some fun.

I am excited about the journey ahead at KPS and am looking forward to what we can achieve together.
